J A Harrison – Leading Supplier Of  Cork Rubber Products.  Hugh Stocks Are Held At Manchester Enabling Next Day Delivery On Most Sizes

The Cork Rubber Gasket market is still a vast industry, in many applications it can outperform pure rubber and fibres because of its recovery properties.

Cork combines the compressibility and recovery characteristics of cork with the flexibility Of rubber makes it excellent for sealing applications, and also anti vibration properties  Cork Rubber Moulded Parts.

The quality of Cork Rubber Gaskets in industrial applications is superior to cork agglomerate or to rubber alone.

Alongside press-cut gaskets, we have recently developed our Cork Rubber products to include  moulded components and gaskets including 3 dimensional shapes.

Combining the compressibility and recovery characteristics of cork with the stability and resistance of rubber they provide excellent sealing properties at temperatures of up to 180oC. Typical applications will include Automotive, Electrical Power Transformers, Gas Meters and Electrical Motors.

Anti – Vibration Materials

Excellent vibration isolation performance of Cork Rubber is an advantage in many industries such as building, railways and industrial applications. The most appropriate and complete solutions for: heavy machinery equipment like pumps, compressors, turbines, lifts, refrigeration and other applications.

The main advantages are:

  • Damping at low frequencies;
  • Very low water absorption;
  • Low creep;
  • High load bearing capacity;
  • Retains properties throughout long maintenance free life;
  • Wide range of pad, strip and sheet sizes and thickness.

Cork Rubber For Noise Vibration Control

The vibration isolation performance of elastomers is significantly improved when air is added to the material. The variable amount of air added to an elastomer allows control of its resilience, internal damping, load-bearing capacity, temperature behaviour, and vibro-acoustic performance.

Graded cork granules can be introduced into elastomers as an effective procedure for adding air to the material. This is due to the fact that cork is composed of a combination of open and closed flexible, air-filled cells.

The proper control of the granulometry, gradation, and dosage of cork granules added to an elastomer cork material, makes it possible to adjust creep characteristics and fatigue resistance.
